museSalon Collaborative is an artist-led, 501(c)3 arts services organization that transforms communities through the power of art, culture and collaboration.
We equip artists, initiatives and institutions with resources and programs to make greater impact.
Built on the ideas around the term, “salon” (gathering) and the Muse, (where one draws creative inspiration), we provide platforms for more dialogue about the artists’ role as Change-Agent, Cultural Guardian and Djeli/Griot in our village-communities.
Over the past decade, Founder and Vocal Artist, Malesha Jessie Taylor has used her vocal instrument to tell stories of resilience, memory, prophecy and presence grounded in Black conscious thought through collaborative projects with visual artists, historians, activists, academics and youth. Built upon her other practice as a Professor, Taylor works to design opportunities for community dialogue, collective awareness and transformative events that do more than entertain.
“Community involves a full circle with everyone invited, so when I sing, I also seek to educate, uplift and bring healing to hearts and spaces that are broken and overlooked. " – Malesha Jessie Taylor
